The time displayed is in seconds so 60 seconds is 1 minute and 120 seconds is 2 minutes.
Put your finger on the number you want to change and move it up or down the screen to select a time.
Cycle the vibrate function off/on/high by pressing the button.
Turn the audio beep function on/off by pressing the button.
Select the type of audio beep by pressing the button.
Try starting with 15 seconds.
Press the start button and consciously swallow your saliva or wipe your mouth.
When the prompt makes a sound, again consciously swallow your saliva or wipe your mouth.
Continue to swallow your saliva or wipe your mouth every time you hear the sound
Find out what works time interval works for you. Some people benefit from be prompted to swallow every 15 seconds and others every 3 minutes. You may of course swallow involuntarily at other times in between.
When you have discovered the optimal time interval for you, trial the different settings options. These are;
- Try the vibrate function and keep your device in your pocket.
- Try using earphones to use Swallow Prompt more discreetly. You can user either wired or wireless headphones.
- Try different sounds - you may want to use the ‘high’ frequency sound when you are in a noisy environment and a quieter ‘click’ sound when at home.
- Press the stop button at any time. You may not need to use the prompt all day long.
